Two killed, seven hurt as car crashes into culvert in Kannur

KANNUR: Two people were killed in an accident after their car lost control and crashed into a culvert at Meruvambai in Koothuparambu. The two dead are Aravindakshan (65) and Sharon (eight), natives of Uruvachal Kayani. They are relatives. Seven people sustained injuries in the accident. The accident happened early Friday morning at 3:30.

The car in which the family was travelling met with the accident while proceeding to Kayani from Karipur. The locals and the police jointly took the passengers out of the car. Initial reports said the driver dosing off may have led to the accident.
