Huge demand for Vande Bharat tickets in Kerala; Thiruvananthapuram - Ernakulam tickets are in high demand

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: There is a huge demand for tickets for the Vande Bharat Express from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasaragod. People about three times the number of passengers on the train are trying to book the tickets. Thiruvananthapuram - Ernakulam tickets are in high demand. Railway sources said that this shows the acceptance of Vande Bharat in Kerala. Chair car reservations are fully booked till May 28 while Executive Chair car reservations are fully booked till June 16.

For traveling from Thiruvananthapuram to Kasargod, the chair car price is Rs 1590. On executive, the price jumps to Rs 2880. Executive chair cars are in huge demand despite the high rate. Vande Bharat, which leaves Thiruvananthapuram at 5.20 am, has 238 percent demand for executive chair cars and 215 percent for chair cars.

An unofficial estimate is that 60,000 people have traveled on the Vande Bharat after the service started on April 28. 27,000 people traveled during the first two weeks. 32,000 people had booked their seats but 5000 people canceled their journey due to various reasons.
