IDUKKI: The relocated rogue tusker Arikomban reached Tamil Nadu terrorizing the natives of Cumbum town. The forest officials are also in place to ward off the dangerous tusker back to the lushes of the jungle. The people were seen howling at the tusker in fear.
While being relocated from Kerala. a radio collar was hung to the neck of Arikomban to track the elephant's movement. According to GPS tracking, Arikomban was near to Gudalur region near the lower camp yesterday. However, in the early morning today, the signal went lost which made the officers hurry and locate the elephant. To the shock, the rogue one had already then ventured in search of food near the populated area of Cumbum.
If Arikomban moves towards the Bodimettu region from Cumbum, it can easily get back to the Chinnakanal area, from where it was initially moved. The forest officials from both Kerala and Tamil Nadu have joined hands to work for this mission that came out of nowhere. In the rampaging run, Arikomban destroyed an autorickshaw in Cumbum town. Kumily in Idukki is just 23 km away from Cumbum.
