Centre’s green signal for chief minister and team to go abroad

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The center has given nod for the chief minister and his team to go abroad. The union ministry of external affairs has given permission for the team to visit US and Cuba from June 8 to 18. The center had earlier denied permission for Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan to visit UAE. The chief minister is going to the US to attend the Pravasi Sangam of the Lok Kerala Sabha on the occasion of the second anniversary of the government.


The chief minister will hold talks with World Bank officials during his visit to the USA. Speaker A N Shamseer, Finance Minister K N Balagopal, Planning Board Vice Chairman V K Ramachandran, Chief Secretary V P Joy, Principal Secretary to the chief minister K M Abraham and other IAS officials are in the team. NORKA Vice Chairman P Sreeramakrishnan will attend the Lok Kerala Sabha meet to be held at Times Square in New York.

Minister Veena George, Planning Board Vice Chairman, Chief Secretary and Principal Secretary to the chief minister will be in the team visiting Cuba.
