Young director Aisha Sultana has accused the producer of her latest film 'Flush' of preventing the film's release. Speaking at a press conference, Aisha said that 'Flush' is a film set in Lakshadweep and that the producer is not showing any interest in releasing the film due to the political interests of her husband.
According to Aisha Sultana, people promoting the movie that made false allegations against Kerala are trying to stop the premiere of the movie that portrays the true narrative of Lakshadweep. She said that she will release the entire film or relevant parts of the film through YouTube and Facebook if the film is not allowed to be released within a month.
"This is an injustice towards cinema and art. I want to expose the things happening in Lakshadweep through the film. They are trying to prevent it. They are not ready to release the film even when I arrange people for the release. That's when I understood that there is an agenda behind this," Aisha Sultana said.
"I had no contact with the producers for a year. The last time I contacted them, they said that I was speaking against the central government. The producer refused to permit the film's release, even on OTT, claiming that it was against the central government. The film got the censor certificate a year and a half ago. The film tells about the difficulties of airlifting critically ill patients from Lakshadweep to Kerala for treatment. However, the producer is saying that no such incidents are taking place in Lakshadweep," she added.
