KOCHI: Director Lijo Jose Pellissery said that he is presently not a part of the Progressive Filmmakers Association, a new organization formed in the Malayalam film industry. He said that he will inform officially when becomes a part of it. The director clarified this through a Facebook post.

‘I am not presently a part of the film organization that is being circulated in the media. Agrees with the idea of an independent association of creative film directors and producers. Welcoming such an organization. If I want to be a part of such an organization, there will be an official notification from my side. Till then, things that are being circulated in my name is without my knowledge.
An organization named Progressive Filmmakers Association was formed the other day under the leadership of director Ashiq Abu and his wife and actress Rima Kallingal. Reports said the organization is being led by Aashiq Abu, Anjali Menon, Lijo Jose Pellissery, Rima Kallingal and Rajeev Ravi.
The association had mentioned in a letter to the film workers that a new culture would be formed. The aim is to empower workers and their rights will be protected. The values of equality, cooperation and social justice will be promoted. The letter also said that we should come forward as backstage workers.
