Actress and dancer Dr. Methil Devika revealed that she did not receive any support from the family of her estranged husband, actor Mukesh. She shared her experiences of feeling excluded during her time with the family, despite her efforts to integrate.

"Both Mukeshettan’s mother and Kunjamma are good people. But as a woman, I did not receive any support from his sisters, which is disheartening. They are vocal about feminism, but I was completely sidelined. Once, a relative of Mukesh mocked me, and that’s when I made up my mind," Devika shared during the interview.

Reflecting on broader societal issues, Devika emphasized that wives rarely receive backing when they raise concerns about their husband's family. "This is a common problem in our society. If you talk about feminism, the first place to practice it should be within the home but I am not angry with them, nor am I saying any of the allegations against Mukesh are true—these are simply things people say."

Devika also discussed her current approach to life and art. "He visits Madhavam, where my students also live. There's much more artistic expression happening there than at home. There's no need for anger. I have vacated the position of wife and breaking up doesn’t always have to be a traumatic or suicidal experience. There’s no need to defend yourself simply because you were married."
