State School Kalolsavam, T K Sujith bags media award for best cartoon

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The media awards for the 61st state school Kalolsavam held in Kozhikode from January 3 to 7, 2023 have been announced. T K Sujith of Kerala Kaumudi has bagged the award for the best cartoon. The award carries a cash prize of Rs 25,000 and a memento. The award was decided by a panel comprising of K J Jacob (executive editor, Deccan Chronicle), Vinod Vaishaki (Malayala Mission, registrar) and V Salin (additional director, programmes and culture, information, public relations department.


Sujith, son of late T R Kumaran and P R Thangamani of Thirumittakode in Thrissur, has won state media award eleven times. He has several accolades including Media Academy Fellowship, Maya Kamath National Award, Thiruvananthapuram Press Club Award (eight times) and Kerala Lalitha Kala Academy Award thrice.


His wife is M Namitha, a lawyer. His children are Amal, a sociology student at M G College, and Uma, a class 8 student at Cotton Hill School.
