Nipah scare subsides; Schools in Kozhikode district to reopen tomorrow

KOZHIKODE: The Collector has instructed the educational institutes in Kozhikode district which were closed due to the Nipah, to reopen from Monday. Educational institutions in areas not included in the containment zone have been allowed to open starting tomorrow.

Meanwhile, studies in educational institutions within the containment zone will continue online. District Collector A Geetha has directed the preparation of an online learning facility for students living in the containment zone as they are restricted from attending schools. Schools will be opened with safety arrangements including the provision of sanitizers and masks.

The guidelines related to the reopening of schools include mandatory mask-wearing by students and teachers, the availability of sanitizers at school entrances and in classrooms, frequent sanitizing of hands, not sharing food items and maintaining cleanliness.
