PATHANAMTHITTA: Senior Congress leader A K Antony ruled out reports of campaigning against BJP candidate and son Anil Antony. His response was that there are still days left for the campaign to end. Antony was speaking in an interview given to a media.
Antony clarified that when his son joined the BJP, he was first shocked but later got used to it. He stopped talking to his son on the phone. He added that he sees his son when he comes home.
Antony had cited health issues as a reason for not traveling to Pathanamthitta. He said that even if he did not go there for campaigning, Anto Antony would win with an absolute majority. He said that he has difficulties after contracting Covid twice.
However, Anil Antony's response was that he sympathized with his father who was rejected by the people since 2014. Modi will become Prime Minister again on June 4. Anil responded out of bounds saying that the outdated Congress leaders are like dogs who keep barking at the moon.
Anil Antony said that he felt bad when his father spoke for Anto Antony, who had recently stirred up controversy by making statements on the Pulwama terror attack. Anil also said that the people have thrown the Congress into the dustbin from national politics because of taking anti-national policies.
