Attapadi Madhu murder case: Adv. KP Satheesan resigns from post of Special Prosecutor

KOCHI: Senior lawyer K P Satheesan, who was appointed by the government as the special prosecutor in the appeal in the Attapadi Madhu murder case, has resigned from the post. Advocate KP Satheesan announced his resignation as special prosecutor by referring to the matter separately while the division bench was considering the appeal yesterday. The court clarified that the hearing in the appeal can begin as Adv PV Jeevesh has been appointed as an Additional Prosecutor. The government explained that Jeevesh was the lawyer requested by Malli, the mother of Atappadi Madhu. The division bench adjourned the appeal to October 6.

Malli had earlier complained to the Chief Justice against the appointment of Advocate KP Satheesan as Special Prosecutor. In her complaint, Malli had requested that a lawyer, whom her family has full confidence, should be appointed as special prosecutor.
