Heavy rain alert for Kerala in coming hours; hilly regions warned

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Indian meteorological department has warned of the possibility of strong rains in Kerala for the next few hours. Rains are likely to continue for the next five days as a depression is likely to form over the Bay of Bengal. Districts including Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur and Kasaragod have been placed on yellow alert.

29.09.2023: Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Kannur, Kasaragod

30.09.2023: Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Malappuram, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur, Kasaragod

01.10.2023: Kozhikode, Kannur

IMD has specifically pointed out the chances of much stronger rains in the hilly terrains of Kerala.
