Thousands of tiny tots initiated into world of letters on Vijayadashami

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Thousands of tiny tots were initiated into the world of letters on the Vijayadashami day. A heavy rush was witnessed in temples and major writing centers in the state.

Many were initiated into the world of letters at the function organized at SNDP Hall in Pettah arranged by Kerala Kaumudi daily. Neuro expert Dr Marthanda Pilla, CM’s scientific advisor M C Duthan, former DGP A Hemachandran, famous dancer Dr Neena Prasad and neurologist Dr Shaji Prabhakaran initiated the children.

Every year, many children write their first letters in the function arranged by Kerala Kaumudi. Paramount Studio took the photos of the children who got initiated into the world of letters and a free copy was given to them. Gifts were given to the children who got initiated into the world of letters.

Thousands reached Kollur Mookambika temple for the initiation ceremony. Vidyarambha function started at 4 am at Kottayam Panachikkad Devi Temple, also known as Dakshina Mookambika. 35 dignitaries initiated the children into the world of letters. Panachikkad is also the temple in Central Kerala where most children come.

In Thiruvananthapuram, around 800 children got initiated in Navratri Mandapam and around 2000 in Poojappura Saraswati Mandapam. Many got initiated in Sree Padmanabhaswamy Temple. Many tiny tots stepped into the world of knowledge in the famous Attukal Bhagavathy Temple, Karikkakam Chamundy Temple, Gandhari Amman Kovil, Sreekandeswaram Mahadeva Temple and Shanghumugham Devi Temple. Thousands also arrived at the Chottanikara Devi Temple and Paravur Dakshina Mookambika.

Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan, Shashi Tharoor, Governor Arif Mohammad Khan, and many others initiated children into the world of letters. The chief minister has shared the pictures of it on Facebook. Along with the pictures, he also wrote, ‘May this education commencement day inspire us to shape a New Kerala where knowledge and skills are the cornerstone."
