KAZHAKUTTAM: Nine days have passed since the phone call that brought back smiles to Salim Shah’s family. In the phone call, it was informed to the family that Salim Shah will soon return back to Kerala. The exhilaration the news brought has completely faded away now as Salim Shah is still in oblivion, with no news reaching his family in Puthucurichy.

Salim Shah who works in Dubai Ajman last contacted his family on October 17th. On the same day, at 10 pm night Shah even talked with his fiancée, a Puthucurichy native. He informed her about his arrival on the next day and asked her not to contact him mentioning his busy schedule. He even promised to meet her the next day.

However, Shah's relatives waited till night the next day and the wait grew more anxious. No phone calls were attended and his friends from Ajman couldn’t locate him anymore. As tension grew, the family members registered a complaint with the Ajman police.

Salim Shah, who has been an expatriate for seven and a half years, has been working at Sana mineral water company in Ajman for the last one and a half years. Relatives say that he left the firm three months after having differences with his superiors.

However, according to some family members, Salim Shah resolved all disputes with the company and got back to working again with them. He went to collect his passport for returning to India for marriage but was not seen again.
