THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) said that the intense low-pressure area formed over the Bay of Bengal has weakened to a low-pressure area. The IMD also said that it is likely to weaken further in the next three hours. It added that Kerala is likely to receive moderate rain accompanied by thunder and lightning for the next five days. According to IMD, isolated places in the state are likely to receive heavy rainfall from November 18 to 20.

The intense depression has weakened to low pressure over North Tripura and is likely to weaken again in the next six hours. A cyclonic circulation is located over the southwest Bay of Bengal and Sri Lanka. Another cyclonic circulation is located over the southeast Bay of Bengal and Andaman, IMD said.

The IMD has warned that isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Wayanad districts are likely to receive light to moderate rain with thunder and lightning and strong winds with a speed of 40 km per hour.
