BENGALURU: Complaint that the ground staff of an Indigo flight tricked the passengers into leaving the aircraft. The incident took place at the Kempegowda International Airport in Bengaluru around 9.30 pm on Sunday. The staff made six passengers, including the elderly, who were going to Chennai, step out of the aircraft saying that they would be put on another flight.

Complaints are being made that the passengers were tricked into leaving the aircraft due to reluctance to fly with only six people. The flight was supposed to fly from Amritsar to Chennai via Bengaluru. As no other flights were available, these passengers had to spend the night at the airport. They had to wait till the Monday morning flight to go to Chennai. Those who were duped say that Indigo did not even provide accommodation for them.

IndiGo has confirmed that the incident took place. However, IndiGo officials say that accommodation for two passengers was arranged in a lodge 13 km away from the airport and the others had informed that they can stay at the airport itself.

Passengers say that the IndiGo ground staff called them over the phone after they boarded the flight and told them that they were waiting with their boarding pass for another flight and told them to exit the flight immediately. They realized that they had been cheated only when they stepped out. Even the elderly passengers were not helped by the IndiGo staff, the victims said. They demand that action be taken against IndiGo employees in the incident.
