'Truly awful'; passenger shares video from IndiGo flight; this is how the airlines responded

NEW DELHI: IndiGo Airlines has often landed in trouble over controversial incidents. Such an incident is now being discussed on social media. A video shared by a passenger stating that he saw a cockroach in the food storage area inside an IndiGo flight has gone viral. The video was posted on X by Tarun Shukla, an aviation journalist. The video shows cockroaches lurking around the food storage area.

Many people have commented on Shukla's tweet. Some people commented that such situations are disgusting. With this, a discussion began on social media about the cleanliness of the plane. Following this, IndiGo Airlines came forward with a response.

In its press release, IndiGo Airlines stated that the video had come to its notice and that it took necessary action regarding the matter.

"We are aware of the video that was circulated on social media showing an unclean corner in one of our aircraft. Our staff promptly took the necessary action onboard. As a precautionary measure, we immediately cleaned the entire fleet and carried out fumigation and disinfection procedures. At IndiGo, we maintain the highest standards of cleanliness and hygiene to ensure a safe, hassle-free experience and regret any inconvenience caused to the passengers", IndiGo said.
