'This government will go to any extent, I believe in court'; Rahul Mamkootathil appears before Museum police

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Rahul Mamkootathil, who was elected as the state president of the Youth Congress has reached the Museum police station for a questioning session regarding the fake voters ID case.

“ I am just a witness in the case and there will be no interrogation. I took time to reach here cancelling all other programmes just for the fact that I am innocent” Rahul talked to the media.

“My name has been mentioned in the complaint filed by DYFI state secretary V K Sanoj and BJP state president K Surendran. We are open-minded. There is nothing to hide. We are ready to answer any question at any time. I came to know that I have been summoned for questioning through the media. I came here today because I am cooperating with the investigation even though I have some other programs. I received the notice only yesterday. We have no idea what this government will do. It is the same government’s police who dragged a woman named Mahija who came to see the chief minister. I have no particular concerns and I have nothing to hide”

“The Fake Voters ID case is under consideration by the court. If the workers are found guilty, action will definitely be taken by the party but we are against the current smear campaign conducted by CPM to taint those workers.” Rahul said.
