There were three men and one woman in the car, says child's brother; police intensify search for the six-year-old girl

KOLLAM: Police have intensified the search for a 6-year-old girl who was kidnapped by an unidentified gang in Oyoor in Kollam this evening. Abigail Sara Reji, daughter of Oyoor native Reji, was kidnapped by a group that arrived in a car. The girl's brother Jonathan told the police that there were four people inside the car and that they forcefully dragged his sister into the car. According to Jonathan, there were three men and one woman in the car. The gang reached the spot in a white-coloured Honda Amaze car. The incident took place at Kattadimukku in Oyoor.

Meanwhile, Minister V Sivankutty said that the police were carrying out a speedy probe into the incident. The minister said that all precautions have been taken. Minister KN Balagopal said that the incident of child abduction was shocking.

"Spoke to top police officials soon after learning about the incident. The police are taking all steps to nab the accused and rescue the child," the minister said.
