KOLLAM: Abigail was found and it was the news Kerala rejoiced in. However, scenes that unfolded at Kollam AR camp on Tuesday evening were heartening and made tears well up in everyone present there. Siji was uncontrollable and never got tired of kissing and embracing her loved daughter Abigail in the camp, bringing tears of joy to all. Abigail too cried seeing her mother after a full night of drama that made Kerala stand on the grip in tension.

Abigail was found by SN college students on Tuesday noon at 1:30 pm at Kollam Asramam Maidanam. The lady who abandoned Abigail on the ground was taken into custody. It is suspected that she is the niece of the notorious thief who masterminded the incident. It is reported that the woman was caught near Kollam Shankers Hospital around 2.30 pm. She is an accused in chit fraud cases and is being thoroughly interrogated under the leadership of DIG Nishantini.

Kollam SN College student Dhananjaya and two friends were on their way out of college after writing exams when they spotted a child sitting alone on the bench provided on the ground. At the time there was a woman nearby and they saw her walking out from the child. The students then approached the child and asked where her mother was and she innocently replied back that her mother went to call her father.

The students still hovered in doubt and took phones to verify the image and were surprised as they recognized it was Abigail, whom Kerala was searching for. The police were informed and the child was moved to the AR camp. Doctors at Victoria Hospital and District Hospital confirmed that there are no health problems for Abigail. Reji, Abigail’s father rushed to the spot while she contacted her mother through video call.

However, Siji couldn't wait to see her daughter and reached the AR Camp after 5 pm in the evening. Abigail is now admitted to Kollam Victoria Hospital for observation.

Auto driver Sajeev, who unknowingly transported the stranger lady and the child was recognised. He said that the lady wore a yellow colour churidar with her face covered in a mask and a shawl spread over her head.
