COVID cases rising yet again; 10 people test positive in Thiruvananthapuram, eight people in hospital

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: COVID cases are once again on the rise in Kerala. 10 people tested positive for COVID in Thiruvananthapuram on Wednesday. Eight people are undergoing treatment at hospitals. An increase in the number of COVID patients was recorded in the district on Wednesday. Thiruvananthapuram alone has 64 active COVID cases. The figures coming out indicate that there has been an alarming increase in the number of COVID patients in the last two weeks. A detailed examination will be conducted to find out whether a new COVID variant is spreading.

Respiratory problems are also reported in those coming to hospitals with symptoms. The disease is more common in the elderly and those with other medical conditions. According to those working in the medical field, the disease is not getting worse as the majority of people have already received the vaccination.
