KOLLAM: Police made headway in the case of the six-year-old Abigail's abduction from Oyur. Padmakumar hailing from Chathannoor was identified as the prime suspect. The crucial breakthrough came through an auto driver from Kalluvathukkal who provided pivotal information during the police inquiry.

During subsequent investigation, the auto driver now in custody revealed vital details leading to Padmakumar's identification. He disclosed owning a Swift Dzire and another colored car. This revelation guided the police indicating the escape in a blue car while leaving the Swift car at home.

Padmakumar's statement suggests involvement with a mysterious group orchestrating the abduction. Further developments led to the arrest of three individuals in Thenkashi, Tamil Nadu—a family comprising one woman and two men. The police apprehended them along with two vehicles suspecting direct involvement in the kidnapping.

While the investigation continues, focus shifts to the child's father. Authorities probe potential financial transactions linked to nurse recruitment and nursing admissions. This angle is under scrutiny for potential leads in the case.
