Malayali girl sexually assaulted by two women and a man; railway employee among accused

crime

MUMBAI: The police have registered a case against three people, including two women, for sexually assaulting a minor Malayali girl in Mumbai. One of the accused is Viji Albin (53), a Malayali railway employee. The other accused in the case are Viji's friend Shobhana (50) and Shobhana's boyfriend Pankaj. Viji is a friend of the girl's mother.

The victim is the daughter of a Malayali nurse working in Mumbai. The girl was 17 years old when she was sexually assaulted by the accused. Only the nurse and her daughter were living in the flat. The nurse later accommodated her friend Viji in the flat as she was unable to find accommodation in Mumbai.

The sexual assault took place when the girl's mother went to work. Viji, her friend Shobhana and her boyfriend Pankaj sexually assaulted the girl after making her unconscious by mixing drugs in cool drinks. All three sexually assaulted the girl. She was raped four times.

The girl revealed about the incident during a counselling session. In addition to the sexual assault, the accused had clicked her nude pictures and videos and threatened to kill the mother if she revealed the incident to anyone.

The child was under severe mental stress after the incident. She revealed the details of the sexual assault when she was taken to counselling in Navi Mumbai and Kerala.
