NEW DELHI: There are many ongoing global conflicts like the Russia-Ukraine war and the Israel-Hamas war. The military, economic and nuclear power of each country is exposed during a war. The website Global Firepower, that collects information about global defense systems, has released the list of countries with the largest military power in the world.
In the list topped by the US, Russia and China are in the second and third positions. India ranks fourth in terms of military power. Other countries in the top ten are South Korea, UK, Japan, Turkey, Pakistan and Italy.
The Global Firepower list was prepared by analyzing 145 countries. Countries were analyzed based on criteria such as number of troops, military equipment, economic strength, geographical location and availability of resources.
Bhutan is one of the least militarized countries in the world. Other such countries on the list are Moldova, Suriname, Somalia, Benin, Liberia, Belize, Sierra Leone, Central African Republic and Iceland.
