THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The intelligence wing of the home department has confirmed that there is no outside interference behind political criticism of MT Vasudevan Nair. The City Police Commissioner has submitted a detailed report in this regard to the ADGP. Chief speaker MT Vasudevan Nair's criticism was in the presence of Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan at the inauguration of the Kerala Literature Festival.
He said that a leader like EMS is the need of the hour. "A leader who can correct and admit mistakes. This is why EMS is a great leader. We have buried the theory that power means a better opportunity to serve the people. Freedom is not a boon given by rulers," Vasudevan Nair said. He also pointed out that there are currently no such great men who admits mistakes. This criticism of MT ignited a big controversy. Many leaders have come forward to comment on MT's criticism.
Former Minister G Sudhakaran responded that it is Marxism that people's problems are not solved by governance alone, and MT Vasudevan Nair need not point out what they, the leaders, have been saying. "Some people are engaged in a show-off by leaning on MT. It is cowardice to depend on MT's words rather than speaking out directly", he had said while inaugurating the dharna staged by the Kerala Private School Management Association at district education deputy director's office.
But minister Saji Cheriyan said that MT has the freedom to express his opinion.
At the same time, former opposition leader Ramesh Chennithala said that what MT had said is very relevant. "We should not stand with fans and eulogists. MT said to stand with the people and with the problems of the people. Anyone with basic knowledge will understand that he was referring to Narendra Modi and Pinarayi Vijayan," Ramesh Chennithala said.
