kk

KOZHIKODE: A report has surfaced upholding the statements of the survivor in the Medical College ICU sexual assault case. The report was submitted by Assistant Professor Dr. Priyatha of the Medical College Forensic Department in October 2023.

The report points out the lapses on the part of those who investigated the incident earlier, including Dr Preethi. According to the report, the statements of the survivor are credible and no witnesses had made a contrary statement against this. It also stated that justice was delayed for the survivor.

No one forced the survivor to file a false complaint. It is clear from the testimony of the witnesses that the statements made by the survivor regarding the events after the surgery are correct. The statement that the survivor regained consciousness in the recovery room, the identification of the staff who took her to the ICU and the subsequent events were found to be correct. Sexual assault and the subsequent psychological trauma are emphasized in the complaints of the survivor. The report also points out that justice can be ensured for the survivor only through a departmental investigation on the part of the institution.
