Pulpally conflict: Two arrested for allegedly attacking forest department's vehicle, more arrests likely

WAYANAD: Two persons have been arrested in connection with the violence that took place during the protest here with the body of Paul, a resident of Pakkam and a temporary watcher of the forest department, who was killed by a wild elephant. Two people were arrested for allegedly attacking a forest department vehicle. The police recorded the arrest of Shiju, a native of Kurichipatta, and Vasu, a native of Pulpally. The police registered four FIRs in the incident and registered a case against around 100 people.

The police had examined the scenes of the clashes to find those who led the clashes. In cases of violence, cases will be filed under the non-bailable section. The protesters will be book for attacking forest department vehicles, officers, blocking the dead body and throwing stones at the police officers.

During the hartal last day, the protesters shouted at the MLAs in Pulpalli's Angadi. They attacked and pelted stones at forest department officer and jeep. Even though the police lathicharged three times, the people protested with the dead body of VP Paul for four and a half hours.
