MALAPPURAM: Reports claim that KT Jaleel, who was included in the CPM's list of possible candidates in Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency, has withdrawn from the contest. In the last Lok Sabha elections, when KT Jaleel was considered to replace PV Anvar, Jaleel had stated that he would not contest again.
In the assembly elections, the difference between the UDF and the LDF in the constituencies of Ponnani Lok Sabha is only 7000 votes. CPM is considered as a constituency. that could emerge victorious
Samastha President Jifry, on the instructions of KT Jaleel CPM, who had locked horns with the pro-League leaders of Samastha, has tried to build better relations with them and their supporters. Jifri took a public stand against the league's cyber attacks against them. The CPM is of the opinion that although the League's votes cannot be leaked significantly through Jaleel, Samastha's vote bank can be cracked. If Jaleel contests, the league is planning to shift the sitting MP ET Muhammad Basheer to Malappuram and field a youth leader in Ponnani.
The match will be fired
In Ponnani Lok Sabha constituency, Tanur, Tavanur, Thrithala and Ponnani assembly constituencies are in the hands of LDF. The party is confident of getting a good majority in Minister MB Rajesh's constituency Thrithala and KT Jalil's constituencies Tavanur and Ponnani. In Tanur, the constituency of Minister V Abdur Rahiman, and Tirur, the constituency of the League, a slight advantage is calculated. The CPM is hoping that the League will get a large number of votes in Kottaikkal and Tirurangadi constituencies and if it overcomes this by the votes in Trithala and Tavanur, it can win with a majority of a quarter of a lakh.
