KOZHIKODE: The Muslim League has decided on its candidates for the upcoming Lok Sabha elections. MPs ET Mohammed Basheer and Abdussamad Samadani will be the League's candidates this time as well. However, their seats will be exchanged.
Abdussamad Samadani is the MP from Malappuram. However, considering ET Mohammed Basheer's health condition, the Malappuram seat may be given to him. Instead, Samadani will contest from Ponnani. Earlier, ET Mohammed Basheer had expressed his desire to contest from Malappuram.
Meanwhile, the League is not likely to get a third seat for the Lok Sabha elections. Instead, it might be given a Rajya Sabha seat. According to reports, the League might be given a Rajya Sabha seat that will become vacant in June. However, Muslim League national general secretary PK Kunhalikutty said that no discussion is taking place regarding Rajya Sabha seats.
When quizzed about the third seat, Kunhalikutty said that talks are going on and an answer can be given once they are completed.
