Russian woman dies in Varkala beach 

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: A woman from Russia died after getting caught in the rough waves at Varkala beach. She has been identified as Anshelikka aged 52. The incident happened Wednesday morning at 11.30 am at Vettakada in Edava, Varkala.

She was caught in the rough seas while bathing with her friend, a Russian woman. The fishermen and the surfers brought her to the shore and by the time she was taken to the Varkala taluk hospital, she had lost her life.

Her body has been shifted to the mortuary. She was staying at a resort in Vettakada.
