RIYADH: The countries around the globe are giving great importance to digitalization today. Many services have evolved in such a way that everything can be done at home at the touch of a finger. Even our government offices and school classrooms are becoming hi-tech. Saudi Arabia is at forefront in terms of such services.
According to the list of the United Nations, Saudi Arabia is the leader in providing government services to the people of the world through electronic media. Last year too, Saudi Arabia was the first in the same category.
This time again, Saudi Arabia came out on top with a score of 93 percent in the total index. United Nations Economic and Social Commission for Western Asia released the latest report for Saudi Arabia.
The United Nations ranks are based on government services provided to individuals and businesses through portals and smart applications. The report also shows that Saudi's achievement in service availability and resolution of complications has risen to 98 percent.
Ahmed Alsuwaiyan, Governor of the Saudi government authority, said that it was the result of efforts made by government agencies in digitalization that the international advantage was maintained. He said that this is a recognition for building a digital society in the country, increasing productivity and achieving efficiency.
