Missing 9th-class girl surrenders before Tiruvalla police; two youngsters arrested

PATHANAMTHITTA: A 9th-class girl student who went missing last Thursday surrendered before Tiruvalla police station on Sunday morning. The girl came to the station accompanied by two young men. The youngsters after bringing the girl to the police station tried to flee, however, the police managed to catch one among them.

Akhil, a native of Thrissur, was arrested. It is reported that another youth who was with him, a native of Thrissur Anthikad, was also arrested later.

The 15-year-old school student from Tiruvalla, who went to attend school examination, was reported missing last Thursday. Anxious over the girl not returning home, even after normal hours, the family complained to police about the missing. Later, the police registered a case on the complaint of the relatives and started an investigation.

Police received clues about the culprit after conducting a detailed inspection of CCTV footage. In the CCTV visual, the girl was also found talking to two youngsters.

It was confirmed that the youngsters picked up the girl from the bus stand area. The girl also changed her school uniform using the restroom inside the bus stand. The police later released the pictures of the girl along with the two youngsters and sought help from locals. This forced the girl and the two youngsters to surrender before the police station.
