HYDERABAD: 10 persons, including the son of a renowned BJP leader, have been arrested for using cocaine at a drug party held at a five-star hotel in Hyderabad. Gajjala Vivekanand, son of BJP leader Yoganand and grandson of former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister K Rosaiah, was among the arrested. Hyderabad Police said that the party took place in a hotel room of the Radisson Blu Hotel in Gachibowli.
Syed Abbas Ali Jeffrey, Nirbhay, Kedar and others are among those arrested. The police raided the hotel following a tip-off. Police also seized three grams of cocaine and three mobile phones during the search. According to the police, the medical examination showed that Vivekanand had consumed drugs.
Police said that a detailed investigation is going on in the case and efforts are on to nab the drug gang. Vivekanand's father and prominent businessman G Yoganand had contested on a BJP ticket from the Serilingampalle assembly constituency in the last election.
