KOCHI: Muslim League district president Hamza Parakkat has been removed from all posts he was elected to. The move was based on the recommendation of the inquiry committee following allegations raised regarding the use of funds set aside for the construction of the Kochi District Committee office. The new decision of the Muslim League has created a big conflict within the party in the district.

It has been decided to hold a meeting of Muslim League, Youth League, MSF and STU leaders in the district to protest against the action and call a full convention at Aluva on March 3. The leaders' meeting was held in Kochi under the leadership of three vice presidents, four secretaries and state office bearers.

Disputes related to the office bearer election in the district led to the removal of Hamza Parakkat. At the recent Youth League meeting in Aluva, there was an argument between the two factions of the party. The leadership had received complaints against this.
