Driver found stabbed inside autorickshaw that hit electric post; another man found hanging inside nearby house

KOTTAYAM: An autorickshaw driver was found stabbed under mysterious circumstances in Kottayam. The incident took place at Arunootimangalam in Kaduthuruthy in Kottayam. K S Puram native VS Prabhat (40), an autorickshaw driver of Arunootimangalam stand, was found stabbed in the autorickshaw. He is currently undergoing treatment at the Kottayam Medical College hospital.

Meanwhile, another person was found hanging inside a nearby house today afternoon. The deceased has been identified as Arunootimangalam native Shibu Lukose (48). It is reported that he was the one who stabbed the autorickshaw driver. Shibu, a tapping worker, had called Prabhat home this afternoon to go for a ride in his autorickshaw. According to sources, Shibu stabbed and injured Prabhat when he came home.

Although Prabhat, who got injured, managed to escape from there with his autorickshaw, he lost control of the vehicle when it reached the Malakayattam church in Arunootimangalam. The vehicle then rammed between the wall and the electric post on the side of the road. Prabhat was rushed to the Kottayam Medical College Hospital by the Kaduthurthy police. After stabbing Prabhat, Shibu entered the house and hanged himself to death. Velloor police reached the spot and shifted Shibu's body to a private hospital in Muttuchira.
