BHUBANESWAR: Rumors of Naveen Patnaik's Biju Janata Dal joining the NDA alliance in Odisha are over. Party state president Manmohan Samal said that BJP will contest alone in Odisha. Samal said that BJP will fight alone in 21 Lok Sabha seats and 147 assembly seats in this election.
"For the past 10 years, the Biju Janata Dal (BJD) Party of Odisha under the leadership of Shri Naveen Patnaik ji has been supporting the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi ji's government at the Centre in many nationally important events, for which we express our gratitude.
It has been experienced that wherever there is a double-engine government in the country, there has been an increase in development and welfare of the poor and the state has progressed in every sector.
However, many welfare schemes of the Modi government in Odisha are not reaching the ground level, due to which the poor brothers and sisters of Odisha are not getting their benefits. We are concerned about many issues related to Odisha-Asmita, Odisha-Gourav and the interests of the people of Odisha.
In order to fulfil the hopes, aspirations and dreams of 4.5 crore Odisha people, to make a developed India and a developed Odisha under the visionary leadership of the Hon'ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) will contest all 21 Lok Sabha seats and all 147 Vidhan Sabha seats alone this time.

Biju Janata Dal was a part of NDA from 1998 to 2009. The party has been away from the NDA alliance for the past 15 years.
