‘Going as fed up with life’, says Dr Abhirami Balakrishnan’s suicide note

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The suicide note of a senior resident doctor found dead in a flat, has surfaced. Her note said that no one is responsible for her death and that she is going as she is fed up with life. Abhirami Balakrishnan, a senior resident in the department of medicine at the Thiruvananthapuram Government Medical College, was found dead in a flat where she was a paying guest in P T Chacko Nagar in Ulloor at around 6:30 pm on Tuesday.


Reports said that she injected an overdose of anesthesia. Abhirami, who completed her PG, was on a one-year bond period. She was on duty at the casualty on Monday night. Her flat mate noticed that the room was locked from inside when she reached home yesterday. Abhirami failed to respond even after knocking on the door and trying to contact her on mobile. She later called the flat owner Biju and he broke opened the door of the house and saw her lying unconscious on the bed. The hospital authorities said that she had died before reaching the hospital.


She was the only daughter of Balakrishnan, a retired official of the health department, of Abhiram, near Govt HHS, Thiruvananthapuram. She had married Dr Pratheesh, a native of Ramankulangara in Kollam, around four months ago. Pratheesh is working in the ESI Hospital.
