'Focus on own issues,' Vice President slams foreign interference in Kejriwal's arrest

g

NEW DELHI: Vice President Jagdeep Dhankar said that foreign countries should not interfere in the arrest of Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal by the Enforcement Directorate (ED) in the liquor case. He responded that other countries should focus on resolving their own issues. Vice President was reacting to the US government's support for Kejriwal.

Aam Aadmi Party is organizing several protests related to Kejriwal's arrest in the national capital. India Alliance has decided to organize a protest rally tomorrow at the Ram Leela Maidan in Delhi. Aam Aadmi Party is trying hard to make the rally a show of strength. They are conducting a door-to-door campaign to get maximum people to participate in the protest. Congress leader Rahul Gandhi and Congress President Mallikarjun Kharge will be at the rally. NCP leader Sharad Pawar and other prominent leaders will participate, Delhi Minister Gopal Rai told the media.

Meanwhile, Kejriwal will remain in ED custody until April 1. After six days of questioning, he was produced in Delhi's Rouse Avenue court at 2 pm on Thursday. The ED asked for seven more days in custody but Judge Kaveri Baveja allowed four more days. More questioning is needed, including regarding the use of bribery in the Goa elections. Additional Solicitor General SV Raju, who appeared for the ED, pointed out that Kejriwal was evading questions. Being the Chief Minister does not absolve him. The chief minister has only the rights of ordinary people, including arrest. He also clarified that there is no special consideration.
