CBI team from Delhi reaches Kerala to probe Siddharth's death

WAYANAD: A CBI team from Delhi has reached Kerala to investigate the death of Pookode Veterinary University student Siddharth. The CBI team's arrival is after High Court today directed the Centre to issue a notification for a CBI probe into Siddharth's death.

The CBI came to Kerala to gather preliminary information about the death.

The CBI team met the Kalpetta DySP who investigated Siddharth's death. After collecting information, the Centre may issue a notification for a CBI investigation.

Hearing arguments on Siddharth's father Jayaprakash's plea, Justice Bechu Kurian Thomas on Friday directed the Cente to issue notification for a CBI probe and said that delay in probe would benefit the accused. The plea also alleges that the probe was delayed by not handing over required documents even after the order of chief secretary for a CBI probe. The state government replied that action was taken against concerned officals for the said delay. The plea will be again considered on Tuesday.
