Trouble in UDF camp in midst of election campaign as its Kottayam district chairman resigns

udf

KOTTAYAM: In a shocking move, the Kottayam District President and UDF District Chairman Saji Manjakadambil resigned both positions. He said that the reason behind the resignation was the persecution of party executive chairman Mons Joseph. He also claimed that Mons took over the party after making PJ Joseph a puppet. Saji was unhappy that despite being the chairman of the front, he was not giving enough importance in important events. Saji said that he will not join other parties during the election period and will leave politics and concentrate on family matters.

The leaders of the Joseph faction believe that the Jose faction is behind Saji's sudden change of heart, who was campaigning till yesterday morning. Mons Joseph accused Saji's resignation as Judas' act of betraying the UDF and the party.

"All the allegations leveled against me are false. I took initiative in giving important positions to Saji," Mons said.

Election Committee Chairman Thiruvanjoor Radhakrishnan also responded that Saji has not raised any complaint with the UDF. Minister VN Vasavan alleged that Saji's resignation is proof that UDF politics is on the verge of collapse.
