Did not study for exam, 17-year-old girl beaten to death by father

JAIPUR: It has been alleged that a 17-year-old girl was beaten to death by her father for not studying properly for school exams. The incident took place in Sirohi district of Rajasthan. Police have arrested Prem Nagar native Fateh Muhammad (44) in the incident. The deceased girl was a Plus One student.

The police said that a preliminary investigation revealed that Fateh had rebuked and brutally beat his daughter with a stick on Thursday as he was angry with her for not studying for the exam. It was the child's uncle who lodged a complaint with the police.

The police arrested Fateh on Saturday. Police have recovered the stick used by the accused to beat his daughter. The police believe that the cause of death of the child might have been internal bleeding caused due to beating. According to the police, the cause of death will become clear only after the postmortem report comes out.
