Shawwal moon sighting in Ponnani; Kerala to celebrate Eid al-Fitr tomorrow

MALAPPURAM: Believers will celebrate Eid al-Fitr tomorrow, marking the end of a month-long fasting period. Various Qazis reported that the Shawwal moon was sighted at Ponnani. Panakkad Sayyid Sadiq Ali Shihab Thangal announced that tomorrow will be Eid al-Fitr due to the sighting of the Crescent moon.

Elaborate prayer ceremonies will be held in mosques tomorrow on account of Eid al-Fitr. Kozhikode Qazi Sayyid Muhammad Koya Jamalullail said that the new moon has been sighted and Kozhikode Chief Acting Qazi Safir Sakhafi informed that tomorrow will be Eid al-Fitr.

Kerala Hilal (KNM) Committee Chairman M Muhammad Madani also informed that tomorrow will be Eid al-Fitr as the new moon was seen in Ponnani. Eid al-Fitr is also celebrated tomorrow in GCC countries except Oman.
