'Not Sulthan Bathery, it is Ganapathivattam'; K Surendran's rechristen plan draws attention

WAYANAD: BJP state president and Wayanad NDA candidate K Surendran vowed to rechristen Sulthan Bathery as Ganapathivattam if elected as MP. Surendran revealed his plan during a press conference in Wayanad.

Surendran said the name Sulthan Bathery came as part of erstwhile Mysuru ruler Tipu Sulthan’s invasion into the Malabar region and said it was pertinent to give the place its old name back.
