BENGALURU: A six-year-old boy was killed by his mother after a fight with her husband. The incident took place in Dandeli, Karnataka. India Today has reported that Savithri (32) killed her differently-abled son Vinod by throwing him into a crocodile pond near the house. Police have registered a case of murder against Savithri and her husband Ravi Kumar (36) in the incident.

Parents were constantly fighting over their son, who was born speech and hearing impaired. Last Saturday too, they fought over the same issue. Dandeli Rural Police Inspector Krishna Barakeri said that Savithri threw Vinod into a pond full of crocodiles around 9 pm.

After learning that the boy was thrown into the river, Ravi Kumar and the locals searched for him but could not find him. Vinod's body was found half-eaten by crocodiles the next morning. Then the locals informed the police. The report also says that one of the child's hands was taken out of a crocodile's mouth.

Police said Vinod had crocodile attack marks all over his body. Ravi Kumar is a construction worker. Savithri works as a housemaid.
