17-year-old boy who killed two young engineers due to driving under influence will not get license till 25 years old, Porsche car involved in accident had no registration as well

PUNE: A 17-year-old boy was arrested for causing a fatal accident by driving a Porsche Taycan car at a speed of more than 200 kmph. Yet, he was able to get immediate bail. Following this, the police filed a re-examination petition. The vehicle had been running for months with only a six-month temporary registration from Karnataka. This is because the registration of the vehicle had not yet been done, the reason being that Rs.1758 had not been paid. Officials informed that the vehicle owner has to pay this amount and get the registration.

The 17-year-old was driving a 2.5 crore rupee Porsche Taycan with his friends while under the influence of alcohol. It was during this that he killed two 24-year-old IT engineers.

The two IT engineers were on their way home on a two-wheeler after celebrating a holiday at a pub. The engineers were Ashwini and Aneesh. Following the crash, Aneesh hit a car parked next to where the incident took place and Ashwini had gone 20 feet up in the air and died when she fell to the ground.

The Porsche Taycan was an electric car that had been imported from abroad by a dealer in Bangalore and was given for registration in Maharashtra, says the Maharashtra Transport Commissioner Vivek Bhimanwar.

There are allegations from the opposition that since the 17-year-old was the son of a prominent real estate businessman, he was given burgers, pizza and biriyani by the police as soon as he was arrested. The real estate businessman has been arrested. The opposition also alleged that attempts were made to rescue the businessman from this case as well.

As soon as the accident occurred, the people around had stopped and apprehended the 17-year-old. The police soon arrested and took the boy to the Juvenile Justice Board. He was then given the punishment of writing a 300-word essay on the cause of the accident. Within 15 hours, he was released. This is what infuriated the public and the youth.

The Motor Vehicle Department said that the teenage driver will not be allowed to obtain a driver's license until he turns 25. R.T.O officers also informed that the car cannot be registered anywhere for the next 12 months. The temporary registration of the car has also been revoked.
