BENGALURU: The court has ordered an investigation into the academic records of a peon who got 99% marks in 10th standard. This has taken place in Karnataka. The order was given by a local court in Koppal.

23-year-old Prabhu Lakshmikanth Lokare is the one who got 99.5 percent marks in his 10th standard. He had gotten the job as the peon at the local court. He hails from the Sindhanur taluk in the district of Raichur district. He had worked as a cleaner in the Koppal court after studying till the 7th standard.

On April 22, 2024, on the basis of his 10th standard marks, he got recruited as the peon. His name was even mentioned in the final merit list and soon joined as the peon at the Koppal court.

The judge observed that he often found it hard to read and write. It is upon this that he ordered the police to investigate his certificates.

The police filed the case on the 26th of April. Upon investigation, they found out that he had only studied till the 7th standard and that he immediately wrote the 10th standard exams afterwards. Despite getting 625/625, he didn’t know to read or write Kannada, English or Hindi. The court has also ordered the police to check if other people like Lokare are working in other government offices. The judge also suggested to check whether Lokare’s handwriting matches with the handwriting on his answer sheet.
