Lok Sabha elections 2024: 59 percent polling in sixth phase; Bengal with higest turnout; Trinamool Congress leader killed in clash

NEW DELHI: 59.06 percent polling was recorded in the sixth phase of the Lok Sabha elections held yesterday. 58 constituencies in seven states including Delhi and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir went to the polling booth.

Bengal recorded the highest turnout with 78.19 percent voter turnout. Anantnag Rajouri constituency in Jammu and Kashmir recorded low polling (52.28%). This is the last figure released by the Election Commission. The final turnout is subject to change. Polling has been completed in 486 out of 543 Lok Sabha seats. Polling in the remaining 57 constituencies will be held on June 1.

Meanwhile, local Trinamool Congress leader Sheikh Moibul (42) was killed in West Bengal's East Midnapore in a clash during polling.
