Policeman suspended for vandalising restaurant under influence of alcohol

ALAPPUZHA: A policeman has been suspended for vandalising a restaurant and attacking the employees of the restaurant under the influence of alcohol. KF Joseph, the CPO of Changanassery Traffic Police Station, has been suspended from service on the basis of the report of Special Branch DySP.

Jospeh is a native of Vadakkal in Alappuzha. The Alappuzha police earlier registered a case against him for attempted murder. The restaurant owner alleged that he suffered a loss of Rs 6 lakhs due to the policeman's violence. Joseph told the media that he attacked the restaurant out of the agony that his son suffered health issues after eating kuzhimanthi from the restaurant. He also said that he lost control of his mental state after he consumed alcohol.

Joseph vandalised the restaurant after returning from duty in Changanassery. The incident took place after he got drunk from a bar in Alappuzha. He also told the police that he got the machete from the house of his friend.
