Three sustained injuries, Shakthan Thampuran’s statue damaged in KSRTC accident in Thrissur

THRISSUR: The statue of Shakthan Thampuran has been damaged after hit by KSRTC Volvo bus. The accident happened Sunday early morning. Three passengers of the bus sustained injuries. Reports said their injuries are not serious.


While coming out of the stand, the bus lost control, broke the iron fence and knocked the statue. Efforts are underway to move the bus from the accident site. The bus going to Kozhikode has been partially damaged. The cause of the accident is not clear. An investigation has started.


A woman died and another woman was seriously injured in a car accident at Arangottukara in Desamangalam. The dead is Radha, wife of Manikandan of Palakkad Mezhathur Kodanad. The injured is Vasantha and she has been admitted to the hospital. The accident happened around 5 pm on Saturday. They were walking along the road at Arangottukara Estate, when the car from behind lost control and fatally knocked them down. After knocking the two, the car stopped hitting a nearby electric post.


The two seriously injured was immediately rushed to Thrissur Medical College Hospital, but life of Radha could not be saved.
