Complainant in Pantheerankavu case doesn’t want to go with family; police drop her at airport

PARAVUR: The case of the missing complainant in the Pantheerankavu dowry harassment case, has been closed. The complainant’s father had filed a missing complaint of her daughter, with the police. The woman, who was in Delhi, was taken into custody last night soon after she reached the state.


The woman told the magistrate that she does not want to go with her family. With this, the case was closed. The police later dropped the woman back to the airport.
The Vadakkekara police took her into custody at 9 pm last night. The police in an investigation conducted focusing on the tower location of her mobile phone found that she is in Delhi. The police talked to her and asked her to reach Kochi.

The woman had earlier posted a video on YouTube, alleging that she filed a domestic violence complaint against her husband Rahul P Gopal due to pressure from her relatives. The woman had revealed that it was a lie that her husband beat her brutally for dowry and that she feels guilty for raising the allegation.


The woman had said that she is away from home due to the pressure of her relatives and had informed her mother about this. She had stated that she wants to go with Rahul.
The woman's family had denied all the allegations. The father's response was that the video released may be after threatening his daughter. The woman, who had gone to work in an IT company in Thiruvananthapuram on May 3, had not contacted her family. The family then lodged a complaint.
